陳銘威，畢業於香港中文大學音樂系，主修小提琴，師隨趙碧丹女士。在學其間，隨張明遠先生，副修大提琴。中樂方面，則隨著名胡琴演奏家黃安源先生學習二胡。在取得中大學士與碩士後，陳氏獲荷蘭馬斯垂克音樂學院頒發傑出學生獎學金，並赴荷蘭深造，師隨 Robert Szreder 及 Kyoko Yonemoto 。完成小提琴演奏學士學位後，再到比利時魯汶音樂學院，隨著名日籍小提琴家Elisa Kawaguti （維尼亞夫斯基、柏格尼尼及女皇伊莉莎白三大比賽獲獎者）學習小提琴，並取得小提琴演奏碩士學位。陳氏亦積極學習室內樂合奏，在學期間一直接受比利時大提琴家 Roeland Dieltiens 指導室內樂演奏。除此以外，更曾赴及奧地利、西班牙、波蘭、比利時等地參與大師班，以追求更優秀演奏技巧，並擴闊視野。

在獨奏及樂團演奏方面，陳氏均有豐富的演出經驗。在荷蘭深造其間，陳氏亦獲邀隨樂團與意大利指揮家Roberto Benzi 及俄羅斯小提琴大師Boris Belkin 巡迴德國、荷蘭及比利時多個音樂廳演出。陳氏亦活躍於流行音樂，多次為本地歌手作現場伴奏，當中包括何韻詩、衛蘭、古巨基、鄭俊弘、梁詠琪等。2011年，更為王菀之水百合紅館演唱會伴奏，從而汲取音樂上更多面向的經驗。回港後，陳氏現為香港弦樂團常駐小提琴手。陳氏亦熱衷教學，於香港浸會大學完成音樂教育文憑後，任教於本地多間中小學。

Obtained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Willy Tan majored in Violin under the teaching of Ms. Beedarn Chao and minored in Cello learning from Mr. Ming-yuen Cheung. He also studied Erhu with Mr. On-yuen Wong, a famous Huqin master. After graduating from CUHK, Willy was granted the Zuyd Excellence Scholarship by the Conservatorium of Maastricht to further his study of Violin under Mr. Robert Szreder and Ms. Kyoko Yonemoto. After obtaining a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, he then proceeded to Lemmensinstituut Belgium, pursuing Masters of Music in Violin Performance under Ms Elisa Kawaguti, a well-know Japanese Violinist who was the laureate of several competition inclusing the International Henryk Wieniawski Competition (Pl), Paganini (It) and Queen Elizabeth Competition (Be). During his studies, Willy was also dedicated in learning chamber music ensemble, with direction from Belgian Cellist Mr. Roeland Dieitiens. To further excel his performance skills, he attended numerous masterclasses in Austria, Spain, Poland, Belgium, etc.
Over the years, Willy has accumulated extensive experience in solo and orchestral performance in Hong Kong and overseas. He was invited by Italian Conductor Mr. Roberto Benzi and Russian Violinist Mr. Boris Belkin to tour around concert halls in Germany, The Netherland, Belgium etc. with the orchestra. In addition, Willy is active in Hong Kong pop music performances, accompanying a number of local singers including but not limited to Denise Ho, Janice Vidal, Leo Ku, Fred Cheng and Gigi Leung. One of his highlighted accompaniment would be Ivana Wong’s Water Lily Concert 2011 in the Hong Kong Coliseum. Currently Willy is serving as a core member of the Hong Kong String Orchestra. With his passion in education, he is teaching in multiple Primary and Secondary Schools after he obtained his Postgraduate Diploma of Music Education from the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Group Class

If you have a group of 2-3 people who are also interested in learning violin, we may organize a group class. Recommended duration will be 1.5 hour. Location of the studio can be arranged according to students’ preference.
